About
I am a knowledge management consultant based in Dublin, Ireland.
For the first 10 years of my professional life, I worked in Los Angeles in the film and TV industries (visual effects and computer graphics, to be specific). It was during this time that I became very familiar with computer technology. In 2006, I did an MSc. in Computing & Knowledge Management. This course helped me synthesize technology and (what I consider to be) good business practice.
The clients I have worked with so far are mostly in the public sector. The Irish government has been driving a big effort to develop the “knowledge economy” in Ireland in the last 10 years.
As far as my posts go, they range from personal thoughts and observations to external sources of information that strike me as useful for KM work. I used to grapple terribly with wanting to put up fully fleshed out and researched items, but what happened was I never got around to writing them. So instead of looking for perfection, from now on I’m just going to throw up things and snippets as I come across them. It’ll be more than a bookmark but less than an essay. In other words, an informal, free-flowing style. Hopefully, some of it will be useful to others.
If you want a break from KM, you can always visit me here.
